William Louis Sonntag
William Louis Sonntag was an American landscape painter born on March 2, 1822, in East Liberty, Pennsylvania, and he passed away on January 22, 1900, in New York City. Sonntag was a prominent figure in the Hudson River School, a mid-19th-century American art movement known for its romantic portrayal of the American landscape. He studied at the Cincinnati Academy of Fine Arts and later traveled extensively, drawing inspiration from the natural beauty of the United States, particularly the Appalachian Mountains and the Hudson River Valley.
