Christopher Wilmarth

Christopher Wilmarth was an American sculptor born on June 11, 1943, in Sonoma, California, and he passed away on November 19, 1987, in Brooklyn, New York. He is primarily associated with the Minimalist movement, although his work often transcended strict categorizations, incorporating elements of abstraction and emotional depth. Wilmarth is renowned for his innovative use of glass and steel, creating sculptures that explored the interplay of light, transparency, and form. His education at Cooper Union in New York City significantly influenced his artistic development, and he later taught at the School of Visual Arts and Cooper Union.
